Kelsey Plum and the Los Angeles Sparks will look to halt their three-game losing streak when they play the equally-struggling Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
It has been a tough run for the Western Conference outfit, with their offense sputtering in the last three games. Los Angeles has lost their contests by more than 15 points, as they now stand tenth in the WNBA standings with a dismal 4-10 record. What comes as a silver lining is Plum’s availability ahead of their skirmish vs. Sky.
Kelsey Plum Expected To Play Against The Sky On Tuesday
Kelsey Plum is expected to play on Tuesday. The mercurial guard was not mentioned in the team’s injury report ahead of the clash. Barring any last-minute setbacks, Plum’s availability is a major boost for the Sparks, who are on a lull offensively.
Plum missed one game earlier this season with a leg injury, but has otherwise been a constant fixture for the Sparks. The floor general had 15 points in her last game as LA went down 82-66 to the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday.

Plum went 6-16 from the field and 1-7 from the 3-point line as the Sparks couldn’t generate any offense. She ended her evening with three rebounds and four assists.
The Sparks have been riddled with frontcourt injuries and have yet to strike great synergy on offense. Plum has been a standout, leading the team in scoring. The two-time WNBA champion is averaging 20.5 points on 38.3% shooting from the field and 35.7% from deep. She leads the side in assists with 5.5 dimes per game.
Sparks Face Difficult Road Ahead
Their recent struggles can also be attributed to the team going through a major rebuild. From coaching changes to a lack of vital veteran presence, the Sparks are yet to reach the level where they can string up a series of wins to remain in playoff contention. The team has endured a four-year playoff drought since 2020, making this season crucial for the franchise’s resurgence.
The challenge only gets tougher for Kelsey Plum and the Sparks as they play Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever next. This will be followed by another clash against the Sky and a stern test against the New York Liberty, who, along with Minnesota, have been one of the teams to beat this season.
Chicago enters Tuesday’s matchup with their own struggles, posting a 3-10 record and sitting in last place in the Eastern Conference. Both teams are desperately seeking momentum as they fight to stay relevant in the playoff picture.
The Sparks vs. Sky skirmish tips off at 8 p.m. ET. The game can be watched live on The U and the WNBA app with a subscription to the WNBA League Pass.
