The Dallas Cowboys will always be talked about, no matter how good they are. The historic franchise recently saw a major change as Brian Schottenheimer took over the reins as head coach. That decision has been coming for years now, with the Cowboys beginning training camp soon as they look to improve on their 7-10 2024 season.
Key Details for the Dallas Cowboys’ 2025 Training Camp
The Cowboys join the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers by practicing in California. Unsurprisingly, those three teams practice on the West Coast, but the Cowboys will forgo Texas to train in Oxnard. The Staybridge Suites will host the team’s training camp starting on July 21, culminating with a joint practice with the Rams on August 5.
Ending their 2024 season with losses to the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, there’s no shame in most of the Cowboys’ losses. They were beaten by the Eagles twice and lost to quality teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals.

Offensive guard Tyler Booker was drafted in the first round as the Cowboys look to beef up their offensive line and get some much-needed help for quarterback Dak Prescott. Offensive tackle Ajani Cornelius was selected in the sixth round, as the Cowboys selected two offensive linemen, two running backs and two defensive tackles.
Prescott will be joined by wideouts CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jalen Tolbert, and the reliable Jake Ferguson at tight end. Their receiving depth is thin, as the team sees KaVontae Turpin, Jonathan Mingo, and Jalen Brooks backing up their primary group.
It’s a clean slate at running back as Javonte Williams comes over from the Denver Broncos to take over the team’s primary duties. Miles Sanders will back up Williams, a 28-year-old back who’s been on the Eagles and the Carolina Panthers. Those two are joined by Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah, who were selected in this year’s draft.
Linebacker Micah Parsons will once again spearhead a defense that gave up 27+ points in nine games last season. Rookies Donovan Ezeiruaku and Shavon Revel will look to make an immediate impact, as well as the later draft picks of Shemar James and Jay Toia.
If Prescott were to go down with another major injury, the team is backed up by Joe Milton III and Will Grier. Those two QBs will take quite a few reps in training camp as Prescott’s injury history is well-documented. This is not a very deep Cowboys team, as they’ll look to rely on a few of their newest draft picks to help them get back to the postseason.
