WATCH: Cameras Catch Heated On-Court Exchange Between Aces’ A’Ja Wilson and Fever’s Aliyah Boston

A’ja Wilson and Aliyah Boston’s fiery exchange steals spotlight in Aces’ gritty win over Fever in Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Aces forward A’ja Wilson and Indiana Fever center Aliyah Boston made headlines Sunday after a brief but intense on-court moment during the Aces’ 89-81 win at T-Mobile Arena. With the game still pretty tight in the third quarter, cameras caught Wilson leaning into Boston during a physical sequence in the paint. While the broadcast didn’t catch audio, ESPN mics and lip readers suggested Wilson said something quite controversial to Boston.

The clip quickly went viral, fueling debate around post play, competitive fire, and the growing rivalry between two former South Carolina stars now facing off on the WNBA stage.

A’ja Wilson Calls Out Aliyah Boston Mid-Game as Frustrations Boil Over

The Fever opened the game strong behind a dominant performance from Boston. With Indiana holding a double-digit lead early, Wilson was limited to just six points across the first two quarters.

The tone shifted in the third quarter when Wilson was whistled for a foul after jostling for position with Boston. The reaction was immediate, with Wilson visibly frustrated, Boston reacting to the contact, and according to multiple sideline reports, the Las Vegas star leaning in and saying, “Flopping, that’s all you do.”

The moment hit harder considering the pair’s history. Wilson and Boston both came out of Dawn Staley’s powerhouse program at South Carolina, both face MVP-level expectations, and both were locked in one of the game’s most physical sequences.

The incident seemed to flip a switch. Wilson scored 18 points in the second half, including 10 in the fourth quarter. She led the Aces to a comeback win that snapped their three-game losing streak. Jackie Young added 19 points and seven rebounds, while Chelsea Gray scored 18.

“That is not a normal A’ja Wilson night. We are gonna be back,” Wilson told ESPN postgame. “Sorry if you had to see that, but we got the dub!”

As for Boston, she finished with a team-high 26 points and 10 boards, continuing her strong run of form. Despite the loss, her presence in the paint remained one of Indiana’s biggest advantages.

Meanwhile, Indiana teammate Caitlin Clark recorded 19 points and 11 assists but struggled again from 3-point range, shooting 1-of-10 from deep. In total, Clark shot 7-of-20 from the field and committed eight turnovers, negating much of her playmaking impact. While her assists helped keep the Fever competitive late, the Aces closed on a 15-6 run.

Despite Clark’s double-double, her shooting struggles and turnovers ultimately tipped the momentum back to the Aces, who capitalized with a late run to seal the win. In a matchup fueled by star power and rising tension, it was Wilson and Las Vegas who had the final word.
