‘There’s Just a Lot of Weapons’— Analyst Breaks Down Louisville’s WR Room Stacked With 4 Game-Changing Playmakers

According to Louisville insider Jody Demling, the Cardinals’ wide receiver group will be loaded with weapons in 2025.

The Louisville Cardinals football team is coming off a strong season, finishing 9-4 and remaining highly competitive in the ACC.

The Cardinals’ offense was their biggest asset last season, but they lost key pieces to the NFL during the offseason, including quarterback Tyler Shough and leading receiver Ja’Corey Brooks.

Despite that loss of production, one Louisville analyst believes that the Cardinals will have four game-changing receivers on offense this season.

Analyst Believes the Louisville WR Room Is Stacked in 2025

247Sports Louisville insider Jody Demling was recently on the “Cover 3” podcast, where he broke down the outlook of the Cardinals’ roster heading into 2025.

The position group that Demling seemed most excited about is the Cardinals’ wide receivers. He believes that there are four wideouts that will make a big impact for the Louisville offense next season: Caullin Lacy, Chris Bell, Dacari Collins, and TreyShun Hurry.

Demling started by discussing Lacy, who suffered an injury in 2024 and ultimately redshirted. However, he believes Lacy is now fully healthy and coming off a solid bowl game performance.

“He played in the bowl game, had a great bowl game, obviously that did not count towards last year, and now he’s back. He’s going to be really solid,” Demling said.

Demling then spoke on Bell, who had over 700 yards for the Cardinals last season and, according to him, impressed NFL scouts while catching passes for Shough.

“He’s kind of the downfield kind of guy,” Demling said. “He actually was one of the guys that worked out on Pro Day with Tyler Shough, and I know there was a lot of chatter about Chris Bell, and what he was able to do, and the build.”

Finally, he talked about Collins, a transfer from North Carolina State, and Hurry, who came over from San Jose State.

“They think both of these guys are going to be guys that are going to be able to step right in and be big-time receivers. That gives you four weapons at receiver,” Demling said.

It’s rare for a program to have four wide receivers producing at a high level simultaneously, but that’s exactly what Demling expects from Louisville in 2025.

If Demling is right about the Cardinals’ receiver room, it would help their passing offense in a big way, as transfer quarterback Miller Moss would be set up very well for his first season at the helm in Louisville.

With a deep and productive receiving corps, Moss could settle in quickly and give the Cardinals a dynamic passing attack to complement their ground game. If everything clicks, Louisville has a real chance to stay competitive in the ACC and build on last season’s momentum.
