Rams Star Jared Verse Drops Blunt 4-Word Reaction to Sophie Cunningham’s Viral On-Court Antics Defending Caitlin Clark

Rams linebacker Jared Verse drops a blunt reaction on X after Sophie Cunningham defends teammate Caitlin Clark amid rising WNBA tensions.

Los Angeles Rams star linebacker Jared Verse is not one to back down from a challenge. In his rookie campaign, the 6-foot-4 Florida State product helped lead the Rams to the NFC Divisional Round.

Entering year two, Verse will aim to maintain his productive play and continue to be an influential member of Los Angeles’s defensive unit. His no-nonsense approach is evident via his defense of teammates both on and off the field.

Jared Verse Supports WNBA Players After Scuffle During Tuesday Night Contest

On Tuesday night, the Indiana Fever hosted the Connecticut Sun in an eventful outing. Early in the contest, Fever superstar Caitlin Clark is seen getting numerous hands to the face by Sun’s guard Jacy Sheldon. Then, chaos ensues after Clark is shoved to the ground by another Sun’s guard, Marina Mabrey.

Following the scrap between Clark and the Sun’s members, Fever players took matters into their own hands, defending their star. Late in the fourth quarter, Mabrey drives to the Fever hoop before being forcefully shut down by Clark’s teammate Sophie Cunningham.

Cunningham’s defense of Clark had the Rams linebacker amped up. Verse took to X where he voiced his opinion on teammates standing up for one another.

As Cunningham “Stood on business,” so did the Fever. Indiana ended the contest with an 88-71 victory over the Sun with Clark grabbing her revenge as well. The 23-year-old went for 20 points compared to Mabrey and Sheldon’s combined eight.

Verse was not shy to share his respect for Cunningham and Clark, something the rising NFL star has received himself early into his career.

Terron Armstead With High Praise for the Rams’ Second-Year LB

Terron Armstead spent 12 NFL seasons between the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins before retiring at the end of the 2024 season. Before he officially hung up the cleats, Armstead had the pleasure (or lack of) meeting Verse in week 10 of the 2024 season.

When discussing Verse and the threat he presents, Armstead said he is “OK with never seeing that young man again.” The praise came as Armstead joined “The SiriusXM Blitz,” where he was asked which player(s) made the five-time Pro-Bowler retire.

Despite having just one NFL season under his belt, it is clear Verse is making his mark on fellow NFL talent. With his reputation starting strong, it’s safe to say game respects game with Verse recognizing true teammates and others recognizing him.
