Will Howard was the Pittsburgh Steelers’ only quarterback selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. Howard completed 73% of his passes for 4,010 yards, 35 touchdowns and only 10 picks, while adding seven additional scores on the ground last season for the Buckeyes.
The rookie QB participated in the organized team activities earlier this month and posted some snaps from the week on his social media handle.

Howard had to wait until the final day of this year’s NFL Draft to hear his name. The Steelers selected him in the sixth round as the 185th overall pick. He was the eighth signal-caller picked in the 2025 NFL Draft and walks into Pittsburgh’s thin quarterback room.
The former Ohio State quarterback shared a carousel of pictures on his Instagram handle to give fans a sneak peek into his first OTA experience.
“Organized Team Activities, Vol. 1,” Howard wrote in the caption.

While the first picture was a solo shot of Howard in the Steelers’ kit, the second snap featured the entire Pittsburgh QB room. Next up in the carousel was a romantic picture with his girlfriend, Skyler Skoglund.
Skoglund flocked to the comment section to write her reaction to the post.
“Let’s go baby,” she commented.
Howard’s post also included pictures with Steelers running back Kaleb Johnson and American rapper Lil Baby.
Now, Howard’s NFL journey is just beginning, but his role with the Steelers is still a work in progress. Pittsburgh, coming off a 2024 season with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields splitting quarterback duties, saw both players depart: Fields to the New York Jets and Wilson to the New York Giants.
The Steelers signed future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers and positioned Howard as a developmental prospect behind the veteran. Despite a strong offseason, Howard is unlikely to start in 2025, with Rodgers expected to take the helm.
He stayed at Kansas State initially when he could’ve left after a tumultuous start, and resurrected his career over the 2022 and 2023 seasons. And then, with his final year of eligibility, he reached even greater heights at Ohio State.
Howard wasn’t expected to go before Day 3 until Ohio State’s national championship run began. In that four-game stretch, he posted 1,150 yards and eight touchdowns. Howard’s legs were a huge part of his abilities, and he added 57 yards on 16 carries in the national championship game.
Howard’s tenacity, developed at Ohio State, has earned him a mentor in one of the game’s greatest. Though he might not have the elite upside of a first-rounder, his toughness, consistency and drive give him a real shot at sticking in the league for years to come.
