Caitlin Clark is making history and changing the WNBA as we know it. Her electric performance for the Indiana Fever in her victorious return from injury against the previously unbeaten New York Liberty had to be seen to be believed.
It felt historic, and that’s precisely what it was, as the guard’s phenomenal statline against the Liberty of 32 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds put her above elite company in the form of WNBA legend Candace Parker in a particular category.
Caitlin Clark Makes More History in Triumphant Return, Surpassing WNBA Legend Candace Parker
After the Fever’s 102-88 win over the Liberty, Clark passed WNBA legend Parker for the most 30/5/5 games, with three, compared to Parker’s two. All the more remarkable is that this is just her second season as a pro. Furthermore, according to Yahoo Sports, no other player in WNBA history has more than one.
Parker is a 10-time All-WNBA selection and a two-time MVP for the Los Angeles Sparks. For Clark to already clear her in the 30/5/5 category in just her second season speaks to the legendary trajectory Clark is on.

Furthermore, for the most games of 50+ points scored and assisted, Clark has nine in just 45 games. In comparison, WNBA legend Diana Taurasi had 10 in 565 games.
Clark looked like Stephen Curry against the Liberty, as she dropped three-straight logo threes in 38 seconds. This was a truly incredible sequence that will live long in the memory of WNBA fans.

She showed her impressive range by dropping a long-range step-back logo three over Breanna Stewart. She then pulled up over a double team seconds after that for her third of five perimeter makes in the first half, finishing with seven threes for the game. Her quick release from beyond the arc and incredible range make her almost unguardable.
Now that she’s back from injury and already in red-hot form, she’ll be looking to lead the Fever above .500 when they take on the 2-7 Connecticut Sun at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. WNBA fans will be tuned in to find out what she can do for an encore after that sensational performance against the Liberty.
Her health will likely continue to play a significant role in the Fever’s success this season, as evidenced by their performance when she is active.
