It seems like there isn’t much that Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand can’t do for his team in the Stanley Cup Final, and he’s on the verge of celebrating what would be the second Stanley Cup of his career if they finish the job later this week.
Marchand found the back of the net twice in Florida’s 5-2 victory in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final over the Oilers at Rogers Place on Saturday. The win gave them a 3-2 series lead, and the Panthers are now just a single victory away from repeating as Stanley Cup winners. Apart from helping the team win in Game 5, Marchand also put himself into the NHL record books with his clutch performance.
Brad Marchand Enters NHL Postseason Record Books
Not only did Marchand net his ninth and 10th goals of the postseason, but he also became just the seventh player in NHL history (the first since Mario Lemieux) and the second player from the modern era to score at least five goals in multiple Stanley Cup Final series.

Marchand last achieved the five-goal mark in the Stanley Cup Final series in his second season in the league, 2010-11. Through his exploits, he helped the Boston Bruins to a thrilling triumph in a seven-game series against the Vancouver Canucks. Marchand netted five goals in that series, including a pair of goals in the seventh and decisive game of the series on June 15, 2011, in Vancouver.
“It’ll Most Likely Be My Last One” – Brad Marchand Opens Up About 2025 Final
Marchand, who was acquired at the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline in a deal with the Bruins, has proven to be one of the best veteran acquisitions by a club in recent memory. The 37-year-old, recently spoke about how he’s aware of the fact that the statistical probability of him reaching another Stanley Cup Final after this season is quite low.
“I honestly feel less stressed now going into this final than I did in the first round of the last five playoffs I was in,” Marchand said before the series began. “I’m just so excited for it. I’m not nervous about it at all. At the end of the day, however it plays out, it’s going to play out. Statistically, it’ll most likely be my last one; hopefully it’s not, but that’s just how this game works. I’m just going to enjoy every second of it.”
So far in the playoffs, Marchand has made 10 goals with 10 assists and is only behind Sam Bennett and Matthew Tkachuk in the statistical books for Florida. Bennett and Tkachuk have both scored 22 points so far this postseason.
