American tennis star Coco Gauff recently reunited with her boyfriend Jalen Sera just days after her 2025 French Open triumph. However, the couple had a lighthearted disagreement during a recent meal, they shared.
The 21-year-old had not officially confirmed her relationship with Sera earlier, though subtle social media posts, low-key public outings, and shared moments in the stands had fueled speculation among fans. The relationship was finally confirmed in a recent promotional video Gauff did for the American audio company BOSE. The World No. 2 blushed in the clip while listening to a heartfelt ‘I love you’ message from her boyfriend.

Sera, a North Carolina native, was a fourth-grade student of Coco’s mother, Candi Gauff. Sera and Gauff reconnected upon growing up and began dating. In an interview with Time last year, Gauff mentioned dating someone outside of tennis, though she chose not to reveal his identity.
Days after winning the 2025 French Open, Gauff reunited with Sera for a breakfast date. The reigning French Open champion shared a photo of their table, which was filled with pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, and other delicious dishes. The caption highlighted her fondness for cantaloupes.
“grub cantaloupe is awesome,” she wrote.
Sera, however, appeared to have a contrasting view on the fruit. He shared another story and wrote: “Cantaloupe sux !!!!”
Gauff had previously explained why she chooses not to share certain aspects of her life with fans.

Speaking to People magazine last year, Gauff said that while she enjoys sharing certain aspects of her life, she values keeping some things private, as it allows her to maintain control and personal boundaries.
“I think I felt like I just, some parts of myself I love to share, and then some parts I think I just keep to myself. And I think that’s just the beauty of it all, that people still know me and know parts of me, but not everything. So I do feel like my life is a little bit in my hands too,” Gauff said.
Gauff had a stellar clay-court campaign in 2025, with runner-up finishes at the WTA 1000 events in Madrid and Rome, followed by her second Major triumph in Roland Garros. The American is expected to start her grass-court campaign at the Berlin Tennis Open, where she would be joined by Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, and others.
