Josh Allen is having himself a pretty good last 12 months. He’s fresh off his first NFL MVP campaign, having beaten out Lamar Jackson in a tight race for the league’s highest honor. He also piloted the Buffalo Bills to yet another AFC Championship Game appearance, earning him a massive six-year, $330 million extension, and has now married his “best friend,” Hollywood actress Hailee Steinfeld.
Allen discussed his life-changing year as the Bills’ mandatory minicamp got underway on Tuesday, and more than talking, he was smiling all through the press conference.
Josh Allen Gushes Over Marriage With “Best Friend” Hailee Steinfeld
Allen and Steinfeld tied the knot in a private ceremony in Southern California at the end of last month. Some Bills players were also reported to have attended the ceremony, and as Allen joined them back at the minicamp, he couldn’t stop gushing over his decision.
The reigning MVP was asked about his incredible last couple of months, and to no one’s surprise, his best moment of them all was marrying Steinfeld.
“They’ve all been big, none other than marrying my best friend,” Allen said. “She makes everything easier, so I don’t really focus on the other stuff. That was the most important decision I’ll make in my life, and I made the right one.”
The wedding was first reported by TMZÂ on June 1, and the couple could be seen wearing matching white outfits for the occasion.
The pair reportedly started dating around May 2023 when they were spotted together on multiple dates in New York City. Allen appeared to confirm the rumors when he wasn’t opposed to “Pardon My Take” hosts referring to Steinfeld as his girlfriend in August 2023.
Steinfeld was later spotted attending the Bills’ practice camps multiple times before the couple publicly acknowledged their relationship in July 2024 when the Bills quarterback posted an Instagram carousel with a photo of the “Sinners” star at the Eiffel Tower.
The couple got engaged in November 2024 when Allen came up with a “magical” proposal in Malibu, and they made their red carpet debut at the NFL Honors in New York City, where Allen was named MVP. During his acceptance speech, Allen gave Steinfeld her flowers.
“You’ve been my rock and my best friend,” he told her. “I would not be standing on this stage if it weren’t for you.”
Steinfeld is now officially the queen of Buffalo, and if she did play a role in Allen becoming the MVP last season, the Bills’ fans will be expecting many more such dominant seasons from the 29-year-old.
