Jonnu Smith’s Agent Puts Fan Hopes in Check
Taking to X on Monday, June 2, reporter Joe Schad reported that Smith’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, had said on “Sports Xtra” that his client, Smith, would strongly like to remain with the Miami Dolphins.

Of course, many players prefer to stick around, but the power lies with the team. Even when the roles are flipped and a player wants out, the power is out of their hands in many cases. If the Dolphins decide to move on, there are plenty of teams where a fit could make sense.
Three Potential Landing Spots for Smith, Including a Familiar Place
Smith could end up in a number of places, but three make sense with NFC teams that could use an upgrade at tight end.
The Washington Commanders have a quality option in Zach Ertz, but the tight end is heading into next season at 35, and Smith is still in his 20s. The Commanders already made a move for Deebo Samuel this offseason, so they’ve already shown an appetite for adding known quantities.
The New York Giants have Theo Johnson heading into his second season, but with so many experiments taking place on the offensive side of the ball as is, adding Smith could help lock down one position with a predictable high floor.
Last but not least, the Atlanta Falcons have been the subject of some rumors and reports about potentially moving on from Kyle Pitts. If they desire to keep a familiar veteran around for a potentially lower cost, Smith could be their guy. Otherwise, moving on from Pitts would mean potentially thrusting the fate of the room into the hands of Charlie Woerner, who is still chasing his first 100-yard season in his sixth year.
