Tommy Paul’s breakthrough run at the 2025 French Open was marked by a touching show of support from his girlfriend, Paige Lorenze.
The social media personality and entrepreneur sent her love to Paul, who reached his first-ever quarterfinal at Roland Garros.

Paul’s clay-court results had yet to catch up with his hard and grass-court success until now. Entering his seventh French Open campaign, the No. 12-seeded New Jersey native delivered his most commanding stretch yet in Paris, defeating Elmer Møller, Márton Fucsovics, 24th seed Karen Khachanov, and 25th seed Alexei Popyrin en route to the last eight.
This French Open quarterfinal appearance puts Paul in elite company. He has now reached the quarterfinals at three of the four Grand Slams, having previously made it to the semifinals of the 2023 Australian Open and the quarterfinals at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
According to ATP stats, he becomes just the ninth American man in the Open Era to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal on all three surfaces, joining the ranks of Andre Agassi, Pete Sampras, John McEnroe, and others. He is also the first American man since Agassi in 2003 to make the Roland Garros quarterfinals.

Despite being thousands of miles away in the United States, Lorenze made sure to cheer Paul on from afar. In a series of Instagram Stories posted shortly after Paul sealed his fourth-round win, Lorenze shared a snapshot of herself watching the match on TV. She also reposted an infographic celebrating Paul’s quarterfinal appearances across all surfaces.
Notably, his third-round win over Khachanov marked his 200th career tour-level victory. Now, Paul is set for a blockbuster clash on June 3 against defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, who leads their head-to-head 4-2.
Paul Opens Up About Facing Alcaraz Ahead of French Open QF Clash
In a post-match press conference following his fourth-round victory over Popyrin, Paul shared his thoughts on facing Alcaraz in the French Open last eight.
“I mean, we actually played here not even a year ago, at the Olympics, and I felt like I played a decent match. I know a lot of things that I could have done better, and I had a couple of set points, I think in the second set, and ended up losing in straight sets. Obviously, the guy can play amazing tennis here, I mean, defending champion and everything. But I think we would go into the match with some good new ideas.”
