Taylor Fritz Takes Home Something Special for His Son Jordan Despite French Open Heartbreak

Taylor Fritz’s French Open ended early, but a special teddy bear gift for his son Jordan brightened his day.

Taylor Fritz’s 2025 French Open run might have been shorter than he wanted, but the American tennis sensation still managed to bring something home to smile about, particularly for his eight-year-old son, Jordan.

Even with a devastating first-round loss, Fritz had a warm way of turning disappointment into a lovely moment of bonding with his child.

Taylor Fritz Experiences Third First-Round Loss at Roland Garros Since 2016 Debut

The 27-year-old, who was seeded fourth at Roland Garros, was eliminated in the first round by Germany’s Daniel Altmaier in four sets, 5-7, 6-3, 3-6, 1-6. The defeat marked Fritz’s second loss to Altmaier on the ATP Tour, highlighting his ongoing struggles on clay, particularly at the French Open, where he’s never gone deep in nine tries.

Soon after his match, the American posted a story on Instagram of a heartfelt gift left for him at his hotel. The image was of two red soft plush teddy bears sitting on a couch, one with his son’s name “Jordan” stitched on it, and the other with a small tennis racquet in hand.

Fritz became a father in 2016 at 19 years old during his marriage to fellow tennis player Raquel Pedraza. Although the two divorced late in 2019, they still co-parent Jordan.

Fritz has also had a highly publicized relationship with influencer Morgan Riddle in recent years, who often shares glimpses of their life on social media.

When Fritz Shared Heartfelt Thoughts on Fatherhood Experience

During a 2022 interview with Resident magazine, Fritz opened up about being a father, saying it was incredibly rewarding.

“Honestly, one of the best things about being a dad is just seeing my son mirror some of the best parts of who I am,” Fritz said.”He is not a carbon copy, and he is already definitely his own person. Watching him mature, navigate the world, and find joy in life is one of the best parts.”

Fritz also added that he and his son share an affinity for sports.

“He is a remarkable kid and every day he seems to learn something new. He has gotten so much better at tennis and soccer and, of course, that is great,” Fritz continued. “The best part is just spending time with him. I love him and care so much about him. I might be slightly biased, but he is just so damn cool!”

Fritz is soon to embark on the grass-court season, which will start with the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, Germany, from June 9 until June 15.
