The spark? A low hit from Aho on Panthers forward Sam Reinhart in Game 2, which knocked Reinhart out of Game 3 with a reported knee injury. Florida, now up 3-0 in the series, came out with an edge, and Tkachuk took matters into his own hands during the third period.
The Panthers forward went after Aho — slashing, checking, and eventually slamming him into the boards. At one point, he tackled him, earning a two-minute penalty but also sending a message.

“It’s just sticking up for teammates,” Tkachuk said postgame, via Panthers content manager Jameson Olive. “We’re a family in there. It could happen to anybody. There’s probably 20 guys racing to be the guy to stick up for a teammate like that.”
Tkachuk’s penalty didn’t faze the Panthers, who were already in control. And it wasn’t just about him; it showed the team’s mindset. Florida plays with a no-nonsense, close-knit identity, and retaliation for a teammate was bound to happen.
