‘He’s Thick, He’s Pretty Good’ – Brock Bowers Gets Brutally Honest About Raiders’ Rookie RB Ashton Jeanty

Brock Bowers and the Las Vegas Raiders appear to be in good hands at the running back position with Ashton Jeanty now in the building.

The Las Vegas Raiders made the splashy move in last month’s NFL Draft to select stud Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty.

After just a few weeks in his new organization, Jeanty’s new Raiders teammates seem to be very excited to have him there.

Brock Bowers Speaks Highly of Las Vegas Raiders Ashton Jeanty

When speaking to the media this week, Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers heaped praise on his new teammate.

“He’s a beast…He’s quick, he’s fast, he’s rocked up, he’s thick, so he’s pretty good,” Bowers said.

The superstar tight end’s face lit up when the reporter asked him about Jeanty, which is not a surprise. Jeanty was arguably the best offensive player in the entire draft after the career that he posted in Boise.

The 2024 Doak Walker and Maxwell Award winner went from recording 1,347 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground in 2023 to rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2024.

When the ball is in his hands, he is tough to stop.

NFL Defenses Could Have a Hard Time Stopping Bowers and Jeanty

While Jeanty is one stud, Bowers is another dominant player whom defenses must account for. The former two-time national champion and two-time John Mackey Award winner had an outstanding college career at the University of Georgia before being drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

As a rookie in Vegas, Bowers recorded 112 receptions for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns. He was outstanding and proved to be one of the only true bright spots on a disappointing Raiders team.

But now, he and Jeanty look to be the foundation of the Raiders’ offense. Both are 22 years of age or younger, and both are going to require the attention of every opposing NFL defense.

While head coach Pete Carroll came back to coaching for reasons beyond this, he has some talented offensive players at his disposal.

With the experience that Pro Bowl quarterback Geno Smith brings, this Raiders team has the chance to be more formidable than it has been in recent years. It will be interesting to see if Carroll and the Raiders can contend in the AFC West.

The division is one of the toughest in the league thanks to the dynastic dominance of the Kansas City Chiefs. Plus, the Los Angeles Chargers became a playoff team under head coach Jim Harbaugh, and the Denver Broncos returned to relevancy with quarterback Bo Nix under center.
