Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Rachaad White will be playing on the final year of his rookie contract, and he has a strong message for his teammates.

Since being named a starter midway through his rookie season, White has helped overhaul the Buccaneers’ rushing attack entirely. The team had previously ranked last in back-to-back years (2022 and 2023) until White, with help from rookie Bucky Irving, transformed the backfield into a top-five duo in the NFL.

Rachaad White Enters Final Year of Rookie Contract

Now, due to play on the final year of his rookie contract, there have been questions about White’s future with the franchise. Speaking on his mindset moving forward, White told RG in an interview, “I think my biggest thing is to attack every day. Show them who I am.”

He continued, “At the end of the day, you can only control what you can control. You have to go out there and prove it every day.” Showing the right approach, White said, “I look at that in all walks of life, so I’m just going out with my mindset, just attack every day, show them who I am, and let the chips fall where they may.”

Ultimately, White exudes the confidence you want to see, adding, “They’re (Chips) going to fall very, very well. They have been in my life before, and I just know what I bring to the table.”

Of course, there’s the added detail that White is not the only member of Tampa’s backfield. Last season, Irving gained more yards and earned a larger share of carries as well. This was on display during the team’s playoff loss to the Washington Commanders, where Irving took 17 carries for 77 yards while White posted one carry and caught two passes.

White Remains Confident for 2025 NFL Season

Nevertheless, White remains more than confident in himself after having just finished the most productive season of his career so far. The RB averaged a total of 4.3 yards per carry and posted 613 rushing yards throughout the season. However, he is also confident moving forward because of the help in front of him.

“We like to give credit where credit is due,” he said. “A lot of things have transpired with the rushing attack. It’s a lot of things that go into it. Me and him (Irving), we like to give our whole line a lot of credit.”

While White said they “got a great O-line,” and they “all got better throughout the year together in unison,” eyes will certainly be on his performance alone when it comes to seeing how he attacks this season.
