Rune Opens Up About Alcaraz’s Netflix Documentary

Rune and Alcaraz are currently in Rome, competing at the 2025 Italian Open. Both players are seeded at the ATP Masters 1000 clay court tournament in Rome, and they started their campaign in the second round after receiving a first-round bye.

In his opening match, Alcaraz defeated qualifier Dušan Lajović 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the third round, while Rune overcame Francisco Comesaña 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round.

Following his win over Comesaña, Holger Rune spoke to Tennis and mentioned that he had discussed the documentary with Alcaraz, and he described it as “good.” He mentioned that the documentary was beneficial for tennis fans as they got a  glimpse behind the scenes of a player’s life, which highlights the fact that they are all “human.”

“I actually talked to him a little bit about it in the locker rooms. I think it’s good. I think it’s nice for tennis fans, and—I said basically the same thing after the Netflix thing I did with the rest of the players—I think it’s great for the tennis fans to see more of what’s behind the scenes. It’s cool, because we’re all human,” Holger Rune said.
