Now that the 2025 NFL Draft is over, fans can look forward to their teams getting back on the practice field. Offseason workouts are in full swing, and rookie minicamps are quickly approaching.
The NFL announced the date of this year’s Hall of Fame game, but teams still need to get through OTAs and mandatory minicamps. Let’s look at the rest of the offseason schedule and when to expect training camps to start.
When Will NFL Training Camps Begin?
The 2025 Hall of Fame Game will take place on Thursday, July 31, in Canton, Ohio, between the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers. The game will kick off at 8 p.m. ET. Although the Lions and Chargers haven’t announced official start dates for training camp, teams playing in that game typically open camp two weeks beforehand.
Last year’s Hall of Fame Game was played on Aug. 1, between the Chicago Bears and Houston Texans. The Texans opened camp for all players on July 17, and the Bears had their rookies report on July 16, with veterans reporting on July 19.
All other teams opened camp anywhere from two to five days after Chicago did, so expect similar timing this year. However, before training camp, teams have to finish their offseason workout schedule.
