What is Matthew Golden’s Salary and Net Worth?

Selected 23rd overall by the Green Bay Packers, Matthew Golden now prepares to begin his rookie season with a major milestone: becoming the highest-paid wide receiver on the team as a rookie.

Golden will be receiving a salary of $4.4 million, making an immediate financial impact alongside his on-field expectations.

Golden, who clocked an impressive 4.29-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, became a highly coveted wide receiver prospect leading up to the draft.

His motivation for his first paycheck is deeply personal. “Definitely get my grandma a house, man,” he told reporters. “We lost our property a couple of years ago. That’s somewhere I grew up when I was younger. It’d be a blessing to be able to get that back for my family. That’s where they all grew up, that’s where I grew up. I always told myself I wanted to do that, and now I’m in the position to do it, so if it’s bound to happen, I’m gonna make it happen for sure.”

His emotional connection to his family home remains strong. “I go back to look at it every time,” Golden added. “I actually had a camp last week for some kids back at home…I drive down that road. That’s where I grew up.”

Now, with his NFL career officially underway, Golden is poised to fulfill the promise he made to his family and himself.

Golden’s NIL Deals and Valuation

Before stepping onto an NFL field, Golden had already built a solid financial foundation through several NIL deals.

According to the Houston Chronicle in 2023, he secured a significant six-figure deal, estimated to be around $250,000, from SEC schools during his college career. University of Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen highlighted the challenges of retaining Golden, saying, “He’s been offered six figures and 250 thousand… these numbers are bonkers. I don’t know if they are true or not, but he’s getting offered a lot of money to go play for SEC schools.”

Golden’s endorsements expanded beyond SEC offers. He began his NIL journey in August 2023 by partnering with Rockwood Alliances Inc., a Houston-based construction company. In January 2024, he added Vanguard Volkswagen to his list of sponsors, followed by Pop Up Birthday the next month.

On February 22, he expressed his excitement about teaming up with We Are Blood by stating, “Happy to use my NIL in support of the @weareblood mission to provide and protect the community blood supply & to inspire Central Texans to save lives locally.”

Additional collaborations included ArcAustin, where he wrote, “Envisioning a future in which people with intellectual and developmental disabilities have the same opportunities as others to pursue full and productive lives, I am proud to partner with @thearcofthecap,” and a major partnership with the Salvation Army of Austin in April 2024.

Just before the NFL Draft, Golden signed a deal with Under Armour. Expressing his excitement, he said, “They care about development — not just in the game, but in life. To be part of that legacy is humbling.”

His NIL portfolio not only reflects his athletic excellence but also his commitment to community initiatives and brand development.
