Jameis Winston’s Contract and Salary

Winston signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Giants this free agency, which can increase up to $16 million if he hits all his incentives. The deal includes a $2 million signing bonus with base salaries of $1.95 million in 2025 and $3.95 million in 2026, making him one of the lowest-earning QBs.

The 31-year-old will receive a $50,000 workout bonus each year of his deal, and has guaranteed money owed in both years, his base salary in 2025, and $1.3 million in 2026. Last offseason, Winston and the Browns agreed to a fully guaranteed one-year, $4 million contract. This included a $1,210,000 base salary and a $2,790,000 signing bonus.

In PFSN’s backup quarterback rankings, Winston was ranked the fourth-best reserve QB in the league and started seven games for the Browns. He led them to two impressive wins against the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, but lost five, finishing with 2,121 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Winston’s Net Worth and Career Earnings

Winston’s net worth is currently estimated to be $22 million. This estimate doesn’t even factor in the 31-year-old’s endorsement deals or off-field ventures, so this figure might be a bit low.

As the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Winston earned a four-year, $23.35 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a $16.7 million signing bonus. It also earned him endorsement deals with numerous companies, including Nike and Pepsi.

Throughout the course of his professional career, Winston has earned $76,080,894 from his NFL contracts alone. He is now in his fourth NFL team, having previously played for the Buccaneers (2015-2019), New Orleans Saints (2020-2023), and Browns. Winston failed to deliver in his rookie season for the Buccaneers and finished the season 6-10.

He improved to 9-7 the following year but posted losing records again for the next two seasons. The Buccaneers exercised their fifth-year option for $20 million, and while the quarterback posted 5,100 passing yards, Tampa Bay fell 7-9, eventually releasing him.

He signed a one-year, $1.1 million contract with the New Orleans Saints in 2020 but didn’t start any games. He was given another one-year deal worth $12 million the following season, and posted a 5-2 record to earn two-year, $28 million deal.

However, Winston also started three games for the Saints afterward before ending up in Cleveland. He will now hope for a resurgence in New York, but it will be tough competition for the starting job with Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart.
