The 2025 NFL Draft has come to an end, and the endless rush of undrafted free agent signings is underway.
Among those undrafted free agents is safety Shilo Sanders, son of Deion Sanders, who just announced which NFL team he would be signing with.

One of the biggest stories throughout this year’s NFL Draft was Shedeur Sanders’ slide down the draft board until being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers brought the Sanders name back into the spotlight following the draft, agreeing to terms with safety Shilo Sanders as an undrafted free agent.

The Sanders family has been streaming Day 3 of the draft via Twitch, and fans were treated to seeing Deion celebrate with his sons as their NFL dreams came true.
Despite a long draft day for the Sanders family, who saw Shedeur go from a projected first-round pick all the way to the fifth round and Shilo go undrafted, the family remains in good spirits.

“I appreciate y’all staying tuned this whole day, this whole process. It’s been a crazy past three days but can’t nothing stop us,” said Shilo Sanders. “It’s W God in the chat. We not worried about nothing.”
What Does Shilo Sanders Bring to the Buccaneers?
The Buccaneers scouted some qualities that they liked in Sanders’ game, enough to pursue him early in the post-draft undrafted free agency rush.
“Experienced starting defensive back whose ample playing time over the years shows in how he processes in coverage,” wrote PFSN’s Jacob Infante in his scouting report. “Versatile defender with significant reps as a deep safety, in the box, and in the slot over his collegiate career.”
Sanders’ versatility could play to his favor as he tries to earn a roster spot in Tampa Bay. Head Coach Todd Bowles has an affinity for defensive backs that can play multiple roles on his defense.
The 6-foot, 195-pound defensive back has a unique skill set, but a concerning injury history that includes a broken forearm and torn ACL paired with potential character concerns likely held him back from being more highly regarded as a draft prospect.
“The problem is that Sanders’ concerns don’t come entirely on the field. He could improve his form and physicality as a tackler and ability at the catch point, however. There are reasons to be concerned for his financial issues and assault lawsuit, and he’s just an older rookie entering the NFL to begin with,” wrote Infante.
“With a couple factors playing against him, Sanders feels like a late-round pick, at best. His tape indicates he could be worthy of a selection late in Round 6 or some time in Round 7.”
With the draft process officially over, Sanders will now turn his attention toward learning the Buccaneers’ defensive playbook and trying to take advantage of his opportunity to achieve his NFL dreams.
