Emotions were running high in the Sanders household on night one of the NFL Draft. The family gathered at Deion Sanders’ house near Dallas, hoping to hear Shedeur Sanders’ name called in the first round.
It didn’t happen. Despite plenty of buzz leading up to the draft, Shedeur wasn’t selected in the first 32 picks. But what followed was a mix of disappointment, laughter, and motivation — all of it caught on video. The moment turned viral as Shedeur and his Hall of Fame father, Deion, had a back-and-forth that ended with a jab at the Cleveland Browns’ quarterback situation.
Deion Sanders on Browns QB: ‘Flacco My Age!’
Music was playing, drinks were flowing, and the lights were set for a party. That didn’t stop Deion and Shedeur from keeping it real. As the picks came and went, the two started discussing NFL teams — specifically, the Browns and their recent move at quarterback.
Shedeur’s brother, Deion Sanders Jr., caught the moment on camera. In the clip, Shedeur tells Deion that Cleveland recently signed Joe Flacco, the 40-year-old former Super Bowl MVP.
“I’m telling you who they got. Joe Flacco,” Shedeur says.
Deion immediately replies, “Flacco my age!”
That drew laughter from everyone in the room. But Deion wasn’t just throwing shade — he followed it up with respect: “I like Flacco.”

Deion Shows Faith Despite Shedeur Sanders Slipping Out of NFL Draft Round 1
Even with the letdown, Deion was steady in his belief. Before the draft even began, he posted a message of faith to X: “Watch God show out tonight! The same God that’s taken us from Faith to Faith, High school to High school, College to College, Glory to Glory will continue to take us to where We need to be and where He wants us to go! We’ve already WON! #Dad”
The next morning, he doubled down with another encouraging post for Day 2:
“My bible says God uses the foolish things to confound the wise & he chose the weak things of the world that he may put to shame the strong! Please know God ain’t done & God is just really getting started. Enjoy this lesson & stop stressing. #CoachPrime”
Shedeur is still one of the top quarterbacks left on the board. He led all of college football in completion percentage last season at 74%. More than that, he helped turn a struggling Colorado team into a 9-4 squad that finished ranked No. 25 in both the coaches’ and AP polls — their first ranked finish since 2016.
Day 2 could still bring a big moment for the Sanders family.
