Top Potential Landing Spots For Jayden Higgins

The Iowa State Cyclones have two WR prospects in our Top 10 2025 NFL Draft WR rankings. The second is Higgins, a former Eastern Kentucky transfer who distinguished himself in 2024 with 87 catches for 1,183 yards and nine touchdowns.

Higgins’ size and production alone made him an eye-catching player, and the NFL Combine rounded out his profile. He boasts 4.47 speed, a 39″ vertical, and a 10’8″ broad jump at 6’4″, 217 pounds, and on paper, all of the components of a future WR1 are there.

Higgins doesn’t have elite hip flexibility, which can impact his sink and route transitioning at times, and he also provides relatively little in the RAC phase. But he’s a top-end physical talent, a nuanced separator, and an elite hands-catcher with clutch conversion ability.

He also excels in contested catch situations, utilizing his frame to shield defenders and secure the ball effectively.

So, which team could select him heading into Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft?

New England Patriots

As the Patriots look to continue their rebuild and invest in important positions, one of their biggest needs heading into Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft is their wide receiver room.

Taking a wide receiver early, like Higgins, gives Drake Maye another talented weapon alongside Stefon Diggs. Higgins is a coordinated, big-bodied receiver with impressive ball skills who rarely drops passes and would form an explosive receiving duo with Diggs.

Denver Broncos

The Broncos have built one of the best defensive rosters in football and are focusing on the offensive side of the ball for the first two picks of the draft. After grabbing Omarion Hampton in the first round, Denver needs to find a long-term replacement for Courtland Sutton as he gets older, and Higgins is the perfect fit.

Despite being the perfect size and prototype for an X receiver, he still played 29.8% of his snaps in the slot. This will help Higgins establish himself in the offense without having to compete with Sutton.

Tennessee Titans

Taking a wide receiver early gives Cam Ward another talented weapon, and Higgins could serve as a reliable target for him.

Additionally, the Titans are still in need of a WR2 for their offense to pair alongside Calvin Ridley. After taking a quarterback in Round 1, it would be smart to give him another top weapon to throw to.
