Many have described Jalen Milroe as the most talented quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft due to his physicality, but it wasn’t enough for him to be a first-round pick. Only two QBs were drafted in the first round, and Milroe could be up next after Shedeur Sanders heading into Day 2.
Top Potential Landing Spots for Jalen Milroe
In a 2025 NFL Draft QB class that lacks abundance, Jalen Milroe stands out as a high-upside swing that could win over general managers. Milroe’s passing production was modest in 2024, but his 3,570 total yards and 36 total scores (20 ground touchdowns) put a spotlight on his ultimate potential.
From top to bottom, there may not be a 2025 QB prospect with a ceiling as high. He’s an elite athlete and a dynamic running threat at 6’2″, 217 pounds.
He’ll also check boxes as a leader and competitor. Despite all this, Milroe wasn’t able to put it all together in college and might slip out of the second round. However, his mechanics are trending up, and his accuracy and operational efficiency could follow suit.
Cleveland Browns
Cleveland passed on Shedeur Sanders twice in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, suggesting they might not be interested in the Colorado quarterback. Given that the Browns do need a quarterback, Cleveland might have their sights on Milroe’s immense upside, stemming from his strong arm and elite athleticism.
He could be available on Day 3 for the Browns as well, but with the Browns having two picks in the second round, this feels like a perfect spot for them to get a signal caller for 2025. He could also be the Browns’ long-term answer if Deshaun Watson’s issues continue.
Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers were widely projected to select a quarterback in the first round, with many linking them to Jaxson Dart. But with Dart gone now, the Steelers could look to add Milroe regardless of whether they sign Aaron Rodgers or not. He can start games right from the get go, but it would be better for him to sit for a year or two behind Rodgers.
Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas is another destination where Milroe would get to sit behind a veteran quarterback for a year or so and develop into a future starter. The Raiders handed Geno Smith a three-year, $116.5 million contract and might not want to invest a second-round pick in Milroe. But if Milroe is available by Day 3, they will likely select him to develop him into Smith’s long-term replacement.
