At times, it felt as though Shavon Revel fell under the radar as other CB prospects rose. Revel hasn’t seen the field since a torn ACL sidelined him after three games in 2024, but he remains a top prospect at his position and could be selected early on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Top Potential Landing Spots for Shavon Revel
Revel Jr. has a combination of height, length, and speed that you just can’t teach at the cornerback position. His physical tools alone would get him on the radar of NFL teams, but he maximizes them well with a high football IQ.
Revel can read and mirror route concepts well, and he’s able to process and act on break angles in the zone. His ball-tracking skills and long arms amount to exemplary playmaking chops, just as his length, along with his physicality, enables him to dictate in press-man coverage.
Revel wasn’t always tested to the highest degree by his competition in college, and he’s also coming off a torn ACL. Those two factors resulted in him falling out of the first round, but he nevertheless remains one of the highest-ceiling CB prospects in the class.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have some talent in their secondary, but they could be just one outside cornerback away from a complete unit. Los Angeles picked Omarion Hampton in the first round, and would now get a stud cornerback to get closer to Super Bowl contention.
Revel Jr. is a physical freak with tremendous length and ball skills for a cornerback, and he’s a much better athlete than most taller corners. His blend of length, lean mass, tenacity, and blistering closing speed gives off Charvarius Ward vibes, but he’s even quicker and more agile in short areas.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are on track to start Chidobe Awuzie at cornerback in 2025. He’s a solid stopgap option, but with him being on a one-year deal, adding a rookie into the mix could be a smart idea. Shavel would pair with Marlon Humphrey and Nate Wiggins for an explosive corner rotation, making it a steal for Baltimore at 59th overall.
Atlanta Falcons
As the Falcons continue to invest in their defense, it would make sense for them to look for a cornerback to add to the mix.
Atlanta has an exceptional starter in A.J. Terrell, but adding high-end talent has been on the table, and Revel has the highest ceiling of any CB in this class. He posted 30 tackles, one sack and one interception during the 2023 season.
