In just a matter of seconds, a person’s life can change forever. On Jan. 1, 2025, Jack Bech faced a heartbreaking tragedy. His brother, Tiger Bech, was one of the victims of a truck attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, a devastating incident that claimed 14 lives.
Bech, a wide receiver out of TCU and a projected Day 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, revealed that he will wear a Rolex watch that belonged to his brother. The watch, which holds significant emotional weight, will now serve as a lasting tribute — and Bech says it will remain on his wrist forever in Tiger’s honor.
Jack Bech To Honor Brother With Watch at 2025 NFL Draft
In an emotional interview on “The Pivot Podcast,” Bech shared that he’ll be wearing the same Rolex watch his brother Tiger had on when he was killed. For Bech, the watch isn’t just a timepiece, but a powerful tribute and daily reminder that everything he does from this point forward is for his brother.
“You got the scratch marks, and you got the dried-up blood, and I’m never going to wash it. I’m never going to fix it. I’m keeping it just the way it is,” Bech said. “Like every time I look back at it, he died in this watch. It was around his wrist when he got hit. It’s just another one of those reminders to keep on pressing.”
Tiger and his roommate, Ryan Quigley, were on Bourbon Street when the assailant accelerated his pickup truck into the crowd and got into a shootout with police before he was fatally wounded. He killed 14 people, including Tiger, and injured at least 57 others, including Quigley.
Bech transferred from LSU to TCU after limited playing time and coaching changes within the program, and in 2024, he bounced back in a big way, posting 1,034 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.
At the Senior Bowl, he honored his late brother, who also played football at Princeton, by wearing the No. 7 jersey. Bech capped off the tribute with a game-winning touchdown in the final seconds, earning MVP honors in an emotional and unforgettable performance.
In the latest seven-round mock draft from PFSN, Bech was selected with the 68th overall pick by the Las Vegas Raiders — a team that could be a great scheme fit for the TCU receiver. With Geno Smith at quarterback, known for favoring physical targets like Bech, the rookie could carve out a role as a reliable possession receiver early in his career. He’s widely projected to be taken at some point on Day 2 of the draft.
