Could NFL Draft Prospect Max Brosmer Succeed at the Next Level?

Max Brosmer, a 6-foot-2, 217-pound quarterback from Roswell, Ga., enters the draft at 24 years old. He started his college career with the New Hampshire Wildcats, where he played for four seasons.

Brosmer saw action in 11 games as a freshman, starting in 10. Even though he played often, his first year wasn’t one to remember.

He threw for 1,726 yards and 10 touchdowns, but also finished with a 57% completion rate and 11 interceptions — signs of a young QB still developing.

Unfortunately, Brosmer didn’t get a chance to build on that season right away. The COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the 2020 campaign, and a training camp injury sidelined him for all of 2021.

But he made a strong return in 2022, putting together the first of two straight seasons with over 3,000 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. He also chipped in on the ground with 75 carries for 117 yards and two scores.

While 2022 marked a comeback, 2023 was Brosmer’s breakout. He threw for 3,459 yards and 29 touchdowns with a 64% completion rate, showcasing major growth in his game.

With his stock rising, Brosmer transferred to Minnesota for 2024 to test himself in the Big Ten. And test himself he did — Brosmer threw for 2,828 yards and 18 touchdowns with a career-best 66.5% completion rate, helping the Golden Gophers to an 8-5 finish.

His strong season included wins over Big Ten programs like USC, UCLA and Illinois, and close battles with Penn State and Michigan.

Does Brosmer Have It in Him To Be the Next Brock Purdy?

NFL analyst Lance Zierlein projects Brosmer as a Day 3 pick, possibly in the sixth or seventh round. And with what we saw from Brock Purdy in 2022, it’s clear there’s still value to be found in the draft’s final rounds.

At his pro day, Brosmer ran a 4.78 in the 40-yard dash. He’s not going to pull a Lamar Jackson, but he’s shown improved mobility throughout his career.

With five years of steady development and production, Brosmer has caught the attention of scouts. Now, the question is: can he be the next late-round gem to make an NFL impact?
