What Travis Hunter Loves Outside the Gridiron

1) Fishing: His Peaceful Obsession

Hunter’s love for fishing dates back to his childhood in Florida, where he cast lines in local canals and ponds. Now, at 21, his skills are refined and professional-grade. Whether adjusting the drag on a friend’s reel mid-fight or landing multiple largemouth bass by himself, Hunter shows command of the water.

“Told you I was going to put you on the fish. I’m a great teammate. That’s my job,” he said after helping land a 4½-pound bass.

He’s spent time on lakes with professionals like Matt Becker, who said, “If he focused on fishing as much as football, he could be a tournament angler.”

Despite his NFL aspirations, Hunter still finds time to fish, calling it “peaceful.” Yet, peaceful doesn’t mean passive — he’s relentless on the water, often outlasting schedules to keep casting. On one outing, he skipped yoga to circle the lake again, chasing that next big catch.

2 )Video Games: His Way to Recharge

Hunter isn’t drawn to nightlife or large social gatherings. “I don’t like parties,” he admitted. Instead, he prefers staying in, powering up a console, and losing himself in gaming. It’s part of a tightly curated lifestyle aimed at maximizing focus and minimizing distractions.
For Hunter, video games offer the perfect solo reset between intense training sessions and high-stakes performances.

3) Family: His Core and Comfort Zone

Despite a turbulent childhood that included living with six family members in a single hotel room and later moving in with a high school coach, Hunter remains deeply attached to those closest to him. “My parents are my best friends,” he shared.

Now living with his fiancée, Leanna Lenee, on a quiet hilltop guesthouse in Fort Worth, Hunter prioritizes family and stability. He also cherishes moments with children, like playing with his trainer’s daughter Siena during workouts, using her presence to ease the pressure of media attention.

Hunter’s rise has been as unconventional as his lifestyle, marked by discipline, clarity, and a deep connection to the simple joys that keep him grounded. As he prepares for NFL stardom, his message is clear: “People are only talking about me because my name is hot. … I just let people talk.”
