‘Fun and Aggressive’ – Former Scout Urges NFC Team To Make Bold Move in 2025 NFL Draft

Travis Hunter is the most unique prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft, and one analyst thinks a former NFC power should trade up to draft him.

Travis Hunter is one of the top prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft class. His rare ability to play both cornerback and wide receiver at a high level at Colorado makes him one of the most intriguing names heading into April.

Now, one former scout and current draft analyst thinks there’s a team that should make a bold move to go get him.

Could the Cowboys Trade Up for Travis Hunter?

“I miss the days when the Cowboys were aggressive & fun,” said NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah. “Spice it up. Trade up for Travis Hunter.”

Jeremiah, a former scout for the Ravens, Browns and Eagles, has been with NFL Network since 2012 and is a prominent voice in the network’s draft coverage.

Trading up for Hunter would be a major splash for Dallas. The Cowboys have a clear need at wide receiver to pair with CeeDee Lamb and, given Hunter’s two-way potential, he’s a fit for nearly any roster.

As a receiver, Hunter hauled in 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns in 13 games in 2024. He led the Big 12 in receptions and touchdowns while serving as Shedeur Sanders’ top target.

On defense, he racked up 36 tackles (25 solo), four interceptions, 11 pass breakups, and a forced fumble—often shadowing opponents’ No. 1 receivers.

Dallas finished 23rd in the league with a 68.2 score (D+) in PFSN’s Offense Rankings. While some of that dip can be tied to Dak Prescott missing time with injury, that doesn’t explain everything.

Lamb continued his run as an elite receiver, posting 101 catches for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns in 15 games. But the lack of help around him was clear. Jalen Tolbert finished second on the team with 610 receiving yards, and no other pass catcher topped 500.

If the Cowboys want to stay competitive in the NFC East with the up-and-coming Washington Commanders and the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles, they’ll need more firepower in the passing game.

Adding a dynamic playmaker like Hunter wouldn’t just help Prescott—it would take pressure off Lamb and force defenses to think twice about loading the box. That could help open up the run game as well.

Whichever team drafts Hunter will be getting one of the most unique prospects to come out in years. Whether that team is Dallas remains to be seen, but it’s no surprise the Cowboys are being linked to a potential move up.
