With the headlines being dominated by the quarterbacks currently without NFL teams, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has revealed some news of his own.
Taking to his social media, Jackson announced that he’ll be making his acting debut in an episode of “Power Book III: Raising Kanan.”
Lamar Jackson To Appear in Hit TV Show
Jackson’s announcement, which was accompanied by a still from the show, hinted that his character may not be friendly. His post on Instagram expressed his excitement while sharing some details about who he was playing.
“I’m so excited for fans to see me in this new role and thrilled to be a part of ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan.’ My character, E-Tone, is a deadly, dangerous character – you don’t want to get on his bad side!”

Jackson joins a long list of NFL players to try their hand at acting. Many former NFL players have found success on the silver screen, including Terry Crews, O.J. Simpson, Terry Bradshaw, and Carl Weathers. While Weathers and Crews are known more for their acting careers than their short NFL careers, it’s safe to say that will never be the case for Jackson.
Not Everyone Shares Jackson’s Excitement
After the Ravens fell short in the playoffs again in 2024, news of Jackson’s pivot was met with its fair share of negativity. Among the (perhaps unfair) criticism of the quarterback was a comment doubting Jackson’s winning mentality.
I have said it before and I will say it again, bro is not serious about winning. Ravens are cooked.

“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, bro is not serious about winning. Ravens are cooked.” That comment was backed up by another user, who pointed to Jackson’s lack of playoff success.
“Maybe he shouldn’t be acting and focus on the sport he plays professionally so he can finally do something in the playoffs”

Not all of the feedback was negative, though, with some posting in support. “My QB’s a star ⭐️” they said.
Jackson’s Playoff Record Continues To Disappoint
Throughout his seven-year NFL career, Jackson has appeared in eight playoff games, winning just three. Almost all of Jackson’s passing stats are significantly lower in playoff games compared to his regular-season numbers.
Perhaps most notable is the increased number of sacks that Jackson takes in the playoffs. Over eight postseason games, the quarterback has been sacked 29 times, averaging 3.63 sacks per game. Over his 103 regular-season games, Jackson has been sacked 192 times, averaging 1.86 sacks per game.
Sacks make it difficult to sustain drives, which could help explain the struggles Baltimore has faced in the playoffs. While many factors contribute to playoff outcomes, the fact that Jackson’s five playoff defeats have come against four different teams suggests that the issue may lie within Jackson’s play.
