Fans React to Jacksonville Jaguars’ Extension Deal with Walker Little

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport broke the news on Sunday while mentioning the importance of the move for a player who has stepped up in crucial moments. He tweeted, “The #Jaguars and LT Walker Little have agreed to terms on a 3-year, $45M deal for him to stay in Jacksonville. He gets $26M guaranteed.”

As the news broke, fans started pouring in their good wishes for the 25-year-old offensive talent. The sentiment was seconded by a fan who wrote, “Get that money boo-boo.”

One fan commented, “Must be decent for that price.”

“#Jaguars good,” wrote another fan.

Another surprised fan wrote, “Right before game time!”

A fan reacted with a GIF that hyped Little with the message, “Say hello to my little friend.”

“Bless his heart…” wrote a user, quipping about the state of the Jaguars’ organization.

Jaguars’ general manager Trent Baalke announced the extension, saying, “Walker is a homegrown talent who has grown up in our system. Time and time again, Walker stepped in when needed and stepped up his game at the tackle position.”

Little was drafted in the second round in 2021. The 6’7″ Little has had a mixed start to his NFL career. Due to injuries and competition, he’s started only 21 of 51 games, but he has recently proved his worth for the team. After the Jaguars traded veteran Cam Robinson this season, Little stepped into the starting left tackle role, delivering impressive performances.

At $15 million annually, Little’s contract ties him for 13th among left tackles in average annual value, a considerable leap from his rookie deal. The extension is a win-win for both sides. Little earns well-deserved financial security while Jacksonville secures a young, ascending talent to protect Lawrence for years to come.

For now, Little can enjoy his well-earned payday while Jaguars fans savor the security of knowing their quarterback’s blind side is in good hands.
