Miami Dolphins Roster Cut Tracker 2024: Who Made the 53?

The NFL's 53-man roster deadline is 4 p.m. Tuesday, but the Miami Dolphins cuts have already begun. Who's staying? Who's leaving?

The Miami Dolphins cuts have begun. Head coach Mike McDaniel and general manager Chris Grier have begun whittling their roster from 91 down to 53 (plus 16 practice squad players) ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline.

Here’s how this tracker works: When a player has been cut, we’ll cross his name out. If the name doesn’t have a line through it, he’s still on the team.

This list is a compilation of team announcements and news reports.

Miami Dolphins Roster

Quarterback (2)

Tua Tagovailoa
Skylar Thompson
Mike White

The Dolphins went with Thompson over White after a training camp battle that in the end wasn’t all that close. Thompson got second-team reps throughout the summer, which revealed the coaching staff’s true thoughts. White closed the door on returning to the Dolphins’ locker room Tuesday when he agreed to join the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad.

Running Back/Fullback (5)

De’Von Achane
Chris Brooks
Zander Horvath
Anthony McFarland Jr.
Alec Ingold
Raheem Mostert
Jeff Wilson Jr.
Jaylen Wright

The Dolphins’ running back room appears to be set — and it’s deep. With Brooks waived/injured, the Dolphins’ top four ball carriers will be Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane, Jaylen Wright, and Jeff Wilson Jr.

Wide Receiver (4)

Odell Beckham Jr.
Braxton Berrios
Je’Quan Burton
River Cracraft
Erik Ezukanma
Mike Harley Jr.
Tyreek Hill
Jadon Janke
Kyric McGowan
Braylon Sanders
Anthony Schwartz
Jaylen Waddle
Malik Washington

Beckham will begin the season on the physically unable to perform list, NFL Network first reported. Beckham is still rehabbing from an unspecified offseason procedure.

Tight End (4)

Tanner Conner
Jody Fortson Jr.
Julian Hill
Hayden Rucci
Jonnu Smith
Durham Smythe

Fortson entered camp with a real chance to make the 53 but never really caught on this summer — largely because he didn’t really catch particularly well.

Offensive Tackle (4)

Terron Armstead
Ryan Hayes
Austin Jackson
Kendall Lamm
Bayron Matos
Patrick Paul

This was the foursome once Kion Smith got hurt. Strong group.

Interior Offensive Line (6)

Aaron Brewer
Lester Cotton
Jack Driscoll
Liam Eichenberg
Chasen Hines
Matthew Jones

Robert Jones
Andrew Meyer
Isaiah Wynn

Wynn is on PUP and will miss at least the first month of the season with a quad injury he suffered midseason in 2023.

Interior Defensive Line (5)

Calais Campbell
Robert Cooper
Neville Gallimore
Da’Shawn Hand
Jonathan Harris
Benito Jones
Isaiah Mack
Leonard Payne
Brandon Pili
Zach Sieler

A surprise on the interior defensive line: The Dolphins are parting ways with Gallimore despite guaranteeing his entire $1.8 million 2024 compensation, the Miami Herald first reported.

EDGE (5)

David Anenih
Quinton Bell
Bradley Chubb
Cam Goode

Mohamed Kamara
Emmanuel Ogbah
Jaelan Phillips
Wyatt Ray
Chop Robinson

The Dolphins will have to rely on young pass rushers Chop Robinson and Mohamed Kamara early with Chubb and Goode beginning the season on PUP.

Linebacker (5)

Curtis Bolton
Jordyn Brooks
Dequan Jackson
David Long Jr.
Duke Riley
Channing Tindall
Anthony Walker Jr.

Cornerback (6)

Ethan Bonner
Storm Duck
Kendall Fuller
Isaiah Johnson
Kader Kohou
Jason Maitre
Siran Neal
Nik Needham
Jalen Ramsey
Cam Smith

The Dolphins are moving on from Needham, who never really got back his early form after tearing his Achilles in October of 2022. Smith will begin the season on injured reserve but should be back in a both.

Safety/Defensive Back (5)

Elijah Campbell
Jordan Colbert
Jevon Holland
Marcus Maye
Patrick McMorris
Mark Perry
Jordan Poyer

Special Teams (2)

Jason Sanders
Blake Ferguson
Jake Bailey

The Ferguson cut is a bit of a surprise, but don’t count out the Dolphins bringing him back later ahead of the opener. If not they’ll need to find a replacement.
