How Many Picks Do the Giants Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Entering Thursday, the Giants have eight picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They still maintain the rights to their original picks in Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, and Round 7. They have then added one pick via the compensatory formula and two picks via trades.

A pick swap with the Buffalo Bills for lineman Boogie Basham Jr. cost the Giants their original Round 6 pick, but they were able to add a seventh-round pick from Buffalo in return.

The Giants’ original Round 5 pick was sent to the Carolina Panthers as part of the Brian Burns trade. However, the Giants were able to recoup a fifth-rounder in the trade that sent defensive tackle Leonard Williams to the Seattle Seahawks.

What Are the Giants’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

  • QB, OT, OG, DT, TE

It was not a good year for the New York Giants, who ended up moving on from Daniel Jones as they struggled to be competitive for large parts of the 2024 season. They finished ranked 32nd overall with the 31st-ranked offense, the 20th-ranked defense, and the 27th-ranked offensive line.

The biggest conversation centers on the quarterback situation. Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston give them passable options for 2025, but the future beyond that is uncertain. The Giants may decide that the Wilson-Winston pairing means they can opt for Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter at No. 3 overall, but they still need to look for a long-term solution this year.

Even if they solve the quarterback issue, they need to add pieces around him. Their offensive line is a disaster and needs upgrading at every spot besides left tackle, with an emphasis on RT and guard. In terms of weapons, they have never adequately replaced Evan Engram, and getting a reliable tight end would give whoever plays quarterback another target to take some pressure off of Malik Nabers.

On defense, the Giants lack depth along their defensive line, both at defensive tackle and EDGE. The pass rush plummeted after Dexter Lawrence’s season ended on Thanksgiving, while Kayvon Thibodeaux’s future is uncertain with a decision on his fifth-year option due after the draft. They could address both on Day 2 or Day 3 of the draft.
