The Bears’ seventh-round pick comes after they sent Chicago their 2025 sixth-round pick in return for Chase Claypool and a seventh-round pick. The Dolphins’ second-round selection was sent to the Eagles in return for the 2024 NFL Draft selection that netted them Jaylen Wright, while their fourth went to the Broncos in the Bradley Chubb deal.

What Are the Dolphins’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

  • G, DT, OT, S, LB, CB

The Miami Dolphins’ 2024 season was derailed early in the year by another concussion for Tua Tagovailoa, which landed him on injured reserve. But even when their franchise quarterback was healthy, it was a tough year. It is hard to read too much into the offensive metrics (15th) because of the time they spent without Tua, but the offensive line ranking 26th stands out as a major concern.

The Dolphins started addressing their offensive line with James Daniels at guard. However, offensive tackle is a major need with left tackle Terron Armstead retiring. Second-year pro Patrick Paul is slated to start, but they’ll need a swing tackle for depth purposes and in case Paul struggles as a starter.

Defensively, the Dolphins finished the year ranked 11th, but they have a lot of potential free agent losses on that side of the ball. The biggest individual loss for now is Calais Campbell, but a Jalen Ramsey trade appears imminent after both sides mutually agreed to seek a separation.

Even before Ramsey’s reported trade request, the depth chart looked very thin at cornerback. Now, Storm Duck and Ethan Bonner would be their projected starting perimeter corners if Ramsey is traded. The depth chart similarly looks thin at defensive tackle, safety, and linebacker.

Just off this list is quarterback because the Dolphins have to accept that Tua could be one hit away from never playing again. They have taken a low-cost swing on Zach Wilson as the backup for 2025, but adding a Day 3 option with upside to compete with Wilson would be a smart move.
