Top Storylines To Watch
Here are some of the top storylines to monitor entering this season of “Hard Knocks.”
Saquon Barkley’s Departure
The show’s trailer teased a snippet of the conversation between general manager Joe Schoen and Barkley. In the short clip, you could hear Schoen asking the star RB, “Are you giving me your word on that, or are you not going to give us a chance?”

While we don’t know what it all means now, it looks as if cameras caught a unique conversation between a star player and his former team before moving on.
Daniel Jones’ Injury and Future in New York
Jones is fresh off a torn ACL that he’s still working through. With him being just one season into a new deal, there were several rumors around the Giants and their interest in drafting a quarterback this offseason.
While the Giants ultimately stuck with Jones and only brought in a backup in Drew Lock, the dynamic between Jones’ rehab and the will-they-or-won’t-they saga of taking a QB looks to be a fun storyline to follow.
Head Coach Brian Daboll Potentially on the Hot Seat
The Giants won a playoff game in 2022 in Daboll’s first season with the team, but it’s been completely downhill since. From underachieving players with big contracts to tough losses and a lack of talent in some areas, the Giants haven’t been able to sustain success.
With Daboll’s back against the wall in a make-or-break year, it will be interesting to see how he and his staff have been handling the pressure behind the scenes.
