Even before the players set foot on the field, the 2024 NFL Draft cycle was visibly rewarding.
We got to see prospects like Caleb Williams, Marvin Harrison Jr., Jayden Daniels, Drake Maye, Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze dazzle before going in Round 1, and dozens of other quality players made the leap.
For the next few years, we’ll be able to follow the 2024 NFL Draft and keep tabs on the performance of its prospects. But for evaluators, it’s time to start the transition to the 2025 NFL Draft cycle.
There’s already a strong talent pool to become acclimated with, led by the likes of Travis Hunter, Luther Burden, Will Johnson, Carson Beck, and others.
But before we complete the move to the 2025 group, we have to take an introspective look at our process first.
The offseason is a vital time for evaluators when it comes to re-evaluation, process adjustment, and additional learning. Through the evaluation process, learning is a constant. However, the slower NFL offseason period allows evaluators to introspect and adapt.
Thus, on the latest episode of The PFN Scouting Podcast, I spoke with fellow NFL Draft and Fantasy Analyst Derek Tate about the process and what role the offseason plays in adjusting the process.
