Former Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver Dez Bryant may not have “caught it” in the Divisional Round all them years ago in Green Bay, but he sure did cash in this time around in this year’s same set of games.
We’ve seen the NFL landscape change as far as legal gambling goes with more markets getting involved in the action, with even the league itself promoting it. Fans and former players alike love to get in the action, and Dez is no different. Only this particular bet was far greater than your normal wager.
Dez Bryant Wins $6,700,000 Betting on Divisional Round
As the NFL advances onto the Conference Championship round after a great weekend of action in the Divisional Round a week ago, Bryant finds himself living life much richer than he was just a week ago, thanks to the action that unfolded on the field.
If the chiefs win this game
Me and my bro breaking down 6.7 million!
— Dez Bryant (@DezBryant)
“If the chiefs win this game Me and my bro breaking down 6.7 million!,” said the former star wide receiver.
To Dez’s pleasure, the Kansas City Chiefs did in fact win, securing his winnings of the massive bet after Mahomes and Co. hung on to defeat the Buffalo Bills 27-24.
When asked what the bet was, Dez released the list of bets he needed to hit for him to cash in. It’s an impressive list of correct selections.
LAMAR TD ravens $line
Jahmyr Gibbs TD
Mike Evans TD lions $line
CMC td
George Kittle TD 49ers $line
Travis kelce TD chiefs $line https://t.co/HhHRghsdyb— Dez Bryant (@DezBryant)
“LAMAR TD ravens $line Jahmyr Gibbs TD Mike Evans TD lions $line CMC td George Kittle TD 49ers $line Travis kelce TD chiefs $line,” said Bryant in response to the question on “X.”
All six bets on the parlay hit, and as a result, Bryant and his brother are now $6.7 million richer. With another slate of games coming up this weekend, one could wonder if Dez is going to go out on a high note and not play the action, or is eager to hit again, looking to Mahomes and Lamar Jackson once again to bring him home a fortune.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, Bryant is worth $16 million as of 2023, so adding this big time gamble to his portfolio certainly will help this number grow.
Surely he doesn’t hit this big all the time, but when it comes to life and in gambling as well, the old saying goes “some times you rather be lucky than good.” In Bryant’s case, he may just be both. Let’s see what he has up his sleeve this weekend.
