No Love Lost Between Ja’Marr Chase and the Chiefs When Asked About His Super Bowl Pick – “Anyone But the Chiefs'”

Ja'Marr Chase does not bite his tongue when it comes to his feelings about the Kansas City Chiefs. His Super Bowl pick is the latest example.

There’s nothing quite like a good rivalry. Good, old-fashioned hate shared between two quality football teams is good for the sport. It is also something that Cincinnati Bengals star WR Ja’Marr Chase is rather unshy about when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs.

He has taken every chance he can to throw a shot or two at the Chiefs and their players, even having that emotion spill over to scrums on the field. The young wideout does not mince words when it comes to his disdain for his AFC rival, and when it comes to discussing who he wants to win the Super Bowl, he couldn’t have been any more clear.

‘Anyone But the Chiefs’ – Ja’Marr Chase Makes Super Bowl Pick

Chase was on the latest episode of ESPN’s Sportscenter when he was asked who he would like to make the upcoming Super Bowl. While he did not answer the question directly, he certainly didn’t duck the question either.

“Anyone but the Chiefs,” is what the star wideout said, and it serves as another reminder of how heated this Chiefs-Bengals rivalry truly is.

While he didn’t offer up much more than that, his teammate, WR Tee Higgins, was on the show with him and said he would like to see the Baltimore Ravens play either the San Francisco 49ers or the Dallas Cowboys.

We are a long way from the 2024 season — with a lot to be decided between now and then — but it may not be too early to circle the next Chiefs-Bengals game on our calendar.

Ja’Marr Chase vs. Chiefs History

The Chase and Chiefs saga started on the field with some trash talk that has since taken on a life of its own. The main trash talk came between Chase and Chiefs DB L’Jarius Sneed. Both players traded verbal barbs on the field, and it is something Chase thinks that Sneed and the Chiefs can’t handle.

“I don’t know what he was doin’,” Chase said of Sneed. “I just be under people’s skin sometimes, I guess. The M-F’er want to fight me, so I was ‘All right.’”

When he was asked what led to the two shoving each other, Chase said, “Just trash-talking. Can’t handle it.”

“I started it off. They whole defense was mad at me,” Chase added. “It started at the beginning of the game. You seen it. I mean, everybody did. That’s just what I like to do.”

The Chase and Chiefs beef looks like something that will not be going away anytime soon, and while it looks like the young wideout is the pot-stirrer of the situation, he does not look like he has any intentions of slowing down the trash talk or the poking of the bear.
