Tee Higgins Makes Amazing Fourth-Quarter Catch, Bengals Win in OT

Higgins missed multiple games in November with a rib injury. He entered Saturday’s game with 32 catches for 436 yards and two touchdowns in the nine games in which he’s appeared this season.

Down by seven points with the clock dwindling, Higgins made what could be considered the catch of the year as he scored his second touchdown and tied it up 24-24.

Higgins hauled in a pass from Browning, stopped, then twisted and somehow extended the ball over the goal line for the score.

The play sparked conversation on social media as fans were baffled.

One fan posted on X (formerly Twitter), “How did Tee Higgins do this?!?!?!?!?”

“Tee Higgins with one of the greatest touchdown catches I’ve seen in a LONG time!” Another said

“Absolutely ridiculous catch and effort by Tee Higgins. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything quite like that before,” another fan chimed in.

Higgins’ grab gave him four catches for 61 yards and two touchdowns, both of which came in the fourth quarter.

“We always count on Tee Higgins,” head coach Zac Taylor said after the game.

Prior to the catch, an offsides call on Trey Hendrickson brought back a pick-six by Germaine Pratt. The pick-six would’ve given the Bengals the lead with roughly five minutes left in the game. The Vikings were then able to bring the ball into the end zone to take the lead again.

The phenomenal catch sent the game to overtime, as the Bengals put up 21 points in the fourth quarter.

The Bengals were without JaMarr Chase in OT, who headed to the locker room with less than two minutes left in the game. It’s unclear what exactly is wrong with Chase, but he was previously rolling his left shoulder earlier in the game. The Bengals ruled Chase out for the rest of the game heading into OT.

The Bengals won the toss and got the ball first in overtime, but they were not able to do anything with their possession.

Jake Browning was sacked on the first two plays and was unable to complete a jump ball to Higgins deep down the field.

The Vikings got the ball at their 37 and drove to the Bengals’ 42, but they were stuffed on consecutive quarterback sneaks on third and fourth down, turning the ball over to the Bengals once again.

The Bengals were able to open the scoring and win with McPherson’s 34-yard field goal after Cincinnati was able to move down the field, including a 44-yard catch and run by Tyler Boyd.

With the win, the Bengals improved to 8-6 and are still contenders for a playoff spot even after losing star quarterback Joe Burrow to a wrist injury. The team sits at sixth in the AFC.

Meanwhile, the Vikings dropped to 7-7 but still hold the sixth spot in the NFC.
