Why Are the Cowboys’ Jerseys Different? All-White Color Rush To Be Featured Against Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys are wearing alternative uniforms against the Philadelphia Eagles, but something about the helmet will make this combo unique.

When the Dallas Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football in Week 14, they will have a different look: all-white uniforms.

It isn’t the first time the Cowboys have worn their all-white color rush jerseys. However, this specific combination is making its debut in Dallas and has only been used in road games previously.

What Uniforms Are the Cowboys Wearing?

Week 14 in the NFL sees many teams wearing their color rush jerseys. The Saints, Chargers, Giants, and Dolphins will all be wearing their alternative uniforms, as will the Cowboys.

Color rush jerseys have been used in the NFL since 2015 to provide visually distinct looks for all NFL teams.

These Dallas uniforms are called “Arctic Cowboy.” Although it has been in the uniform rotation for several years, the 2023 version is unique.

When the Cowboys wear Artic Cowboy against the Eagles, it will be the first time this edition has ever been worn in AT&T Stadium. It premiered in 2022 on the road to the Tennessee Titans and will now debut in front of the Dallas home crowd. Dallas also wore the uniforms in 2023 away versus the Chargers in Week 6.

What makes this version different is the helmets. The helmets are now all white with the Dallas Star logo on the sides. The helmet also has a white facemask and two navy stripes down the middle.

The rest of the uniform includes white jerseys with navy shoulders and white pants with two navy stripes down their sides. The uniform also features white socks, with white gloves available.

The numbering and lettering on the jerseys will also be navy.

While the jerseys will be different, the helmets will look similar to those worn by Dallas in their Thanksgiving win over the Commanders.

When Jon Machota, who covers the Cowboys for The Athleitc, spoke to superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb about these uniforms, Lamb told him, “This is my favorite one.”

Since 2015, this uniform edition has used the silver helmet, but the Cowboys have decided to clean up the design and introduce the uniform with the white helmets.

The NFL scrapped a rule for 2023 that only allowed one helmet per season in 2022 and has seen many teams make use of the decision to make different uniform combinations.
