What Time Does Sunday Night Football Start?

Sunday Night Football remains on NBC with a start time of 8:20 p.m. ET. While the Patriots lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 1, the team looked much better. The past few seasons have been a struggle for head coach Bill Belichick and the Patriots squad, but things seem to have come together this offseason.

Will they be able to keep up with the Dolphins?

New England will have quite the challenge on Sunday night against Miami. But while they lost to Philadelphia, QB Mac Jones found some success after the first quarter.

After going down into a 16-0 hole, the Patriots bounced back, scoring 20 points over the next three quarters — all touchdowns from Jones. Hiring an actual offensive coordinator in Bill O’Brien will do the young QB wonders for his NFL development.

While Week 1 was a step in the right direction for New England’s offense, they face off against one of the more formidable challenges they’ll face all season: Keeping up with the Dolphins.

Miami has perfectly catered the offense to the strengths and weaknesses of QB Tua Tagovailoa. In doing so, the front office has assembled seemingly the fastest offense in NFL history.

Miami’s Week 1 win showcased just how explosive their offense can be, and the Chargers’ defense is not a shabby unit. Belichick has arguably the best defense he’s had in the past few seasons, but this test will be difficult. How the Patriots intend to stop WR Tyreek Hill will be interesting.

Dolphins WRs have averaged 217.9 yards per game since Week 12 of the 2022 season, the second-best average in the NFL. The Patriots, meanwhile, have allowed 185.1 receiving yards to WRs in the same span, the second-worst average in the NFL.

If New England can’t stop Miami’s offense, Jones and the Patriots’ offense will have to keep up, something they’re not used to doing.
