The Dolphins started the 2023 season as hot as could be compared to the past few seasons. Led by QB Tua Tagovailoa and WR Tyreek Hill, Miami answered everything the Chargers threw at them and won 36-34. Despite a pair of turnovers, Tua played one of the best games of his career to start 2023.
On a day when the rushing attack could only muster 3.5 yards per carry, Tua picked up the slack with his arm. The fifth-year QB completed 28 of his 45 passes for 466 yards and three touchdowns.

Most notably, he was not sacked once, and despite the Dolphins missing Pro Bowl LT Terron Armstead, Tagovailoa navigated the pocket masterfully all game. The work done this past offseason has allowed the face of the Dolphins franchise to take the next step in his development.
The Chargers defense did everything they could in Week 1, but Tua had an answer for everything. Will this new mojo travel to Foxborough?
Tagovailoa is undefeated against the Patriots, boasting a 4-0 record since December 2020. Securing the first win against the Patriots in September will be crucial as Miami is 0-4 when playing in cold weather games since 2021, something that will have to change if the Dolphins want to hoist the Lombardi Trophy again.
