“You Don’t Rave About the QB of Your Arch-Rival and Nemesis” – Skip Bayless Rips Micah Parsons’ Comments About Brock Purdy

Micah Parsons was just trying to be complimentary to a fellow NFL player, but Skip Bayless took exception to it and had a take on the comment.

In today’s new era of sports media, where you can get analysis from any and everywhere, we’ve seen more and more players and coaches find time to give their opinions on relevant topics. Dallas Cowboys superstar pass rusher Micah Parsons is no different.

Earlier this week, Parsons took to his Twitch stream to rave about the play of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy.

“I just don’t think we should sleep on Brock Purdy no more,” Parsons said. Yes, he was a seventh-round pick. Yes, he came in late in the season, won six straight games, and took ‘em to the NFC Championship before his injury.

“But Purdy, you will not be slept on no more, brother. I think people are coming for you the same way they come for [Aaron] Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes. Yes, you are surrounded by a great team, but you are playing your butt off, and you got one helluva story brother.”

Parsons was very complimentary of a fellow NFL player, a man who has beaten Parsons and the Cowboys in the playoffs before, and while the comment seems harmless and complementary in nature, not everyone took it that way.

Skip Bayless Was Not Happy About Micah Parsons’ Comments

Bayless is known for his bold and brash takes, and when it came to the topic of giving another quarterback other than Parsons’ own teammate, Skip did not hold back.

“Micah Parsons has a nemesis every year called the San Francisco 49ers,” Bayless said. “They have sent the Cowboys home two straight years. Last year, obviously, with Brock Purdy.

“I have no problem in a vacuum with what Micah said about Brock Purdy because he’s just dead on right. It’s just obvious, this kid hasn’t lost a game yet. He hasn’t even played average yet, he’s played way above average… But, you play for the Cowboys, whose quarterback is Dak Prescott, who is on a hot seat in Dallas right now.

“There’s an unwritten rule here, a locker-room rule here, that you don’t rave about the quarterback of your arch-rival and nemesis. You just don’t do it. If I’m Dak Prescott, I don’t like it.”

Skip, although acknowledging the play of Purdy himself, did not like Parsons going out of his way to compliment another team’s quarterback, especially one that knocked his Cowboys out of the playoffs two years in a row.

Parsons Will Look To Get Revenge in Week 5

While Skip’s take may be a bit much on the matter, one part is true – the 49ers have the Cowboys’ number. The two teams will meet again for the first time since their NFC Divisional Round clash that saw the 49ers end the Cowboys season in familiar fashion over the last quarter century.

In Week 5, Dallas will visit San Francisco for a Sunday Night Football clash that promises to be a great matchup between two conference rivals. It may not be the same thing as a playoff win, but Parsons has a chance to go out there and put a stop to the quarterback he was heaping a ton of praise on earlier this week.
