NFL Fans Destroy Colin Cowherd After Brutal Mistake — ‘Not Surprised From Him’

Colin Cowherd brought the late Dwayne Haskins back into NFL conversations Tuesday, and not in a good way.

As a long-time national radio host, Colin Cowherd isn’t shy about sharing the kind of opinions that will ruffle some feathers among NFL fans. But one glaring and insensitive mistake by the Fox Sports 1 personality was captured.

Colin Cowherd Makes Mention of the Late Dwayne Haskins During QB Segment

In what was supposed to be a segment called “QBs who cannot win a Super Bowl” ahead of the 2023 season, there was one name that became noticeable: The late Dwayne Haskins.

Caught by PFN Life’s JPA Football, Cowherd’s visibly disturbing mistake was aired during a live broadcast of his radio show.

Worse, Haskins’ name was blurted out by Cowherd himself and not just seen as a potential production mistake. Haskins was placed in the category of QBs who can’t win a Super Bowl.

“Then the third category is 20 guys who are not getting to a Super Bowl and certainly not winning it,” Cowherd said. “And that’s everybody else from Baker Mayfield, Teddy Bridgewater, Dwayne Haskins…guys that can’t win Super Bowls, okay? So six stars, four high-end starters, and 20 guys who can’t win a Super Bowl.”

It’s been one whole year since Haskins died from a dump truck accident in which he was reportedly trying to cross the highway in Florida after his car ran out of gas. Haskins, who starred at Ohio State and was a brief starter for Washington, was only 24.

So Cowherd bringing back his name into an NFL conversation sparked some vehement responses from NFL fans.

‘Not Surprised From Him’ and Other Notable Reactions

Some fans weren’t shocked that the verbose Cowherd stooped to that level. Others demanded the network reprimand him.

“I’m convinced he just reads. Doesn’t even know what he’s saying. This is bad,” said podcast host Matt Ramage.

“This is utterly pathetic by Colin CowClown. Mentioning a deceased player in your list smh,” said one other fan.

“A trash person being trash once again…” another fan shared.

Football writer and columnist Tony Battalio believes that Cowherd and ESPN personality Stephen A. Smith are only driving in views by saying outlandish things on air.

“Unfortunately guys like Collin and SAS are no longer on the air to talk about actual sports, they just say the most outrageous things they can because they know it drives traffic,” Battalio said.

One more fan demanded that analysts like Cowherd should be additionally held accountable for their actions just like the athletes they criticize.

“Pathetic. Doesn’t know Baseball then says this?? Eventually we got a hold these analyst that have their own shows in their name accountable for stupid mistakes. Just like we’d hold professional athletes to their mistakes,” the fan said.

Even National Analysts Blast Cowherd

Cowherd didn’t get much backing from his media peers, either.

Chris Williamson of CBS Sports HQ was one who criticized the blunder.

“This is a jaw-dropping failure by everybody involved in making this graphic and clearing it to go on air,” Williamson said.

Barstool Big Cat was another who chimed in.

Sam Block of ESPN, who was a personal friend of Haskins, was even more vocal toward the Ex-ESPN personality.

“This is SO BAD. Awful, disgusting, horrifying. RIP Dwayne Haskins. A beautiful man, a beautiful friend, a beautiful human being. Let the man rest in peace. Don’t disrespect him while he rests. Yikes,” Block said.

While Cowherd had his backers with others online saying it was a production mistake, others weren’t as convinced — demanding that he gets fired from his job.

Cowherd, meanwhile, is yet to give his post-show reaction on the Haskins gaffe.
