Commanders Playoff Scenarios To Watch For in Week 17

The Commanders have one route to clinching a Wild Card spot this weekend, but they’ll need a lot of help. Here’s how Washington can grab a playoff spot in Week 17, per NFL Playoff Scenarios.

Scenario 1
Commanders win, Seahawks lose, Lions lose, and Packers lose or tie

Scenario 2 (Week 18)
Washington wins in Weeks 17 and 18.

What Are the Commanders’ Playoff Chances?

Coming into Week 17, Washington’s playoff chances sit at 28%, per FiveThirtyEight. If they beat the Browns in Week 17, it will jump to 49%, while a loss drops it to 7%.

In Week 17, Washington is favored against the Browns, while Detroit and Green Bay are also favorites on Sunday. Seattle will be a home underdog to the Jets. So, it’s certainly possible that the first scenario can play out today. Of course, if the Commanders win this week and next, they’ll be in the playoffs no matter what else happens.
