Kenneth Walker III Injury Update

When you look at the injury report from this week, alarm bells would be ringing about Walker’s status. The rookie RB was absent from practice all week as he continues to deal with an ankle injury. Walker missed Week 14 before playing in Week 15.

On Thursday, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters that he expects Walker to play in Week 16 against the Kansas City Chiefs. However, it’s not clear how much Walker will play. Last week he touched the ball 17 times on 48 snaps, but heading into that game, Walker had been a full participant in practice across the final two days.

Tyler Lockett Injury Update

Earlier in the week, we heard that Tyler Lockett’s surgery on his broken finger went “perfectly.” Carroll told reporters that the star WR may only miss one game because of that. Therefore, despite Lockett being ruled out for Week 16, there’s a chance he’s back for fantasy championship games in Week 17.

Marquise Goodwin Injury Update

Normally, we see a player with an injury slowly have more participation in practice. On Tuesday, Goodwin was listed as a full participant but was downgraded to limited on Wednesday before being a non-participant on Thursday. Despite the double downgrade due to wrist and ankle injuries, Goodwin was listed as questionable and not ruled out on Thursday.

Additionally, Carroll told reporters that Goodwin is expected to play this week. With Lockett ruled out following his surgery, Goodwin has a chance to be the WR2 for the Seahawks this week. While he’s not as valuable to fantasy managers as Lockett, Goodwin has a chance to be a 14-team option this week.

However, the injury situation complicates that somewhat. With Goodwin dealing with two separate issues, the risk of re-injury during the game is reasonably high. That, as well as the uncertainty surrounding him this week, is why Goodwin sits as the WR41 in Senior Fantasy Analyst Tommy Garrett’s Week 16 WR fantasy rankings.

DeeJay Dallas Injury Update

After missing the last two weeks, DeeJay Dallas is on track to return in Week 16. He opened the week listed as a non-participant before being upgraded to limited on Wednesday. Dallas remained limited on Thursday before being listed as questionable for the weekend. After practice on Thursday, Carroll told reporters that Dallas is expected to play this week.

However, with the news that Walker is also expected to play, Dallas has limited fantasy value. Before Walker got injured in Week 13, Dallas only had 14 carries and seven targets on the season. With Walker as the lead back and Travis Homer as the receiving back, Dallas is unlikely to see significant work this week. Accordingly, he sits as the RB93 in our Week 16 RB rankings.

Noah Fant Injury Update

After being absent from practice through the first two days of this week, Noah Fant returned as a limited participant on Thursday. That earned him the tag of questionable, with Carroll also saying the tight end is expected to play.

In the last three weeks, Fant has had mixed success for fantasy managers. In two of those three games, he found the end zone and scored double-digit fantasy points in half-PPR. However, in Week 14, Fant did not register a single reception on a solitary target. He’s a tough fantasy option to trust on a weekly basis and comes in as the TE15 in our Week 16 TE fantasy rankings.
