Veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who was one of the top remaining free agents, has joined the Indianapolis Colts, per a league source.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Gilmore received a two-year, $23 million contract to sign with the AFC South franchise.
The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year was linked recently to the Los Angeles Rams. Additionally, he has been mentioned as a potential target for the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, Las Vegas Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers this offseason.
Gilmore visited Colts
Gilmore, 31, is a former Buffalo Bills first-round draft pick from South Carolina. He later signed a five-year, $65 million contract with the New England Patriots. That deal included $31 million guaranteed.
He visited the Colts on Wednesday. Two days later, he has agreed to sign with them.
Due a $7 million base salary in 2021, he was traded to the Carolina Panthers.
With the Panthers, Gilmore played in eight games and had 16 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 2 pass deflections.
