Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Kansas City Chiefs injury report

The injury report does not seem set to have a big impact on this week’s Steelers vs. Chiefs matchup. Across the two teams, there were 14 players listed at one point or another this week.

However, heading into Sunday, just two players remain on the injury report. One of them has been ruled out; one is still questionable. However, it is a name that does not appear on the Steelers’ injury report who has raised hopes of a surprise in Arrowhead this weekend.

Najee Harris cleared from the Steelers’ injury report

  • QB Ben Roethlisberger (Pectoral/Shoulder)
  • RB Najee Harris (Elbow)
  • OT Dan Moore Jr. (Ankle)
  • G Trai Turner (Knee)
  • CB Arthur Maulet (Concussion)

There was some concern for the Steelers coming out of Friday as Najee Harris was questionable. However, he was cleared to play on Saturday as the first of two pieces of good news for Pittsburgh.

The Steelers also activated WR JuJu Smith-Schuster from the injured reserve ahead of their game Sunday. Will the return of Smith-Schuster and the presence of Harris be enough for the Steelers this week?

Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Darrel Williams provide concerns on the Chiefs’ injury report

  • RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Shoulder) – Out
  • RB Darrel Williams (Toe) – Questionable
  • WR Tyreek Hill (Heel)
  • TE Travis Kelce (Hip)
  • G Andrew Wylie (Glute)
  • OT Orlando Brown (Calf)
  • LB Willie Gay (Wrist)
  • CB L’Jarius Sneed (Knee)
  • S Tyrann Mathieu (Knee)

There was some concern for the Chiefs to open the week with a heel injury to Tyreek Hill in Week 18 and lingering injuries for Orlando Brown and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Kansas City listed Hill as limited Thursday but a full participant on Wednesday and Friday. Brown was a full participant all week, which was the same for all the other players on the list outside of the two running backs.

However, Clyde Edwards-Helaire was ruled out after being downgraded as a non-participant on Thursday and into Friday. Meanwhile, RB Darrel Williams was limited all week and is questionable. The Chiefs face being shorthanded at the position if Williams also cannot suit up. That would leave them with Derrick Gore and Jerick McKinnon as their lead backs.
