Joe Burrow has been the hottest quarterback in fantasy football over the last two weeks, absolutely lighting up the scoreboard and the stat sheet. While the Bengals were on their way to a massive win over Kansas City that gave them the AFC North title, Burrow left the game late with an injury. What’s the injury update on the young signal-caller?
Joe Burrow injury update
It’s important to remember that Burrow suffered a torn ACL last season, so seeing him leave the field — especially given his toughness — is a bit unnerving. The Bengals seem to be downplaying any potential injury to him, though. When asked about Burrow, head coach Zac Taylor shrugged it off and said that Burrow “just got his knee twisted up.” He went on to say he came off the field because they knew they were kicking a field goal anyway.
After the game, Burrow did an on-field interview and was seen jogging off the field. After the game, videos showed Burrow smoking a cigar and dancing in the locker room with his teammates as they celebrated their division title. It appears that Burrow is fine.
Burrow has been the best quarterback in football the last two weeks
What Burrow and the Bengals’ offense have been doing over the last two weeks is absolutely absurd. Over the last two games, Burrow has completed 67 of 85 passes (79%) for 971 yards, 8 TDs, and 0 INTs. Nine hundred seventy-one. In two games.

He’s been essentially perfect. He’s been feeding whichever of his trio of wide receivers is open, whether it’s Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, or Tyler Boyd. The offense just thwarted (and made a comeback) on the Kansas City Chiefs, who entered the day as the No. 1 seed in the AFC. This Bengals team is growing up rapidly.
Joe Burrow fantasy expectations for Week 18
Assuming Burrow is healthy and able to play, Burrow has to be treated as an elite fantasy asset at the moment. His bevy of skill players are coming through for him time and time again, no matter who they’re going up against. The Kansas City Chiefs, for instance, had allowed only the ninth-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing QBs over the last four weeks. That didn’t matter on Sunday.
The Bengals will be playing against the Cleveland Browns in a battle for Ohio. The last time these two teams squared off, it was the only time this year that Burrow hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass. The Browns blasted them 41-16 in Week 9.
The way Cincy’s offense is playing right now, however, I wouldn’t sit Burrow no matter what defense they’re going up against. As long as Burrow is healthy, you play him.
