Dolphins vs. Bears score and results

Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 F
Dolphins 3 10 0 0 13
Bears 0 3 14 3 20

When the Dolphins at Bears game started, Miami looked like the best team on the field. Then, Justin Fields came into the game. His first few drives were not great, but in the second half, he looked like a completely different QB.

Not only did Fields impress with his arm, but he also showed why he was considered one of the most versatile QBs in the 2020 NFL Draft. Fields scrambled 5 times for 33 yards and a touchdown. He also threw the ball 20 times with 14 completions for 142 yards and a TD.

Fields wasn’t the only QB that looked impressive in this one. Tua Tagovialoa started the game with a few good drives and finished the game 8-of-11 for 99 yards and an interception. The interception in the end zone was a mistake I am sure Tua would like back, but he still showed poise and agility in the pocket.

Miami’s offensive line struggled throughout the game. Although it is just a preseason game, Austin Jackson did not look comfortable. Head coach Brian Flores left his starters playing long into the second quarter.

3:35 PM ET: On a long third and 15, Sinnett was able to pick up 17 yards on a scramble. He then completed a 12-yard pass to Perry.

3:25 PM ET: After a fumble by TE Chris Myarick, Chicago gets the ball back. Fields’ day is over and Nick Foles is now the QB. Fields finished 14/20 for 142 yards and a TD. He added 33 yards on the ground with another score.

3:11 PM ET: Jacoby Brissett has now been replaced by second-year QB Reid Sinnett. Brissett finished the game 6/10 for 67 yards and 1 touchdown. He also added 12 yards on the ground.

3:05 PM ET: Fields uses play-action to get TE Jesse James wide open downfield. He then throws a perfect 30-yard TOUCHDOWN to give the Bears their first lead of the game.

3:00 PM ET: After a quick series by the Dolphins, Fields takes the field again. He continues to look more comfortable completing a nice throw to Adams in the middle of the field. He then scrambled for an impressive 21-yard gain.

2:50 PM ET: Fields continues his strong second half start with an 8-yard scramble for a TOUCHDOWN.

2:46 PM ET: Fields starts the second half of the game as the starter. His second throw of the half is a beautiful, back shoulder throw for 25 yards to WR Rodney Adams. RB Khalil Herbert followed up the throw with a 16-yard rush on the outside. His ability to bounce off defenders and cut to the outside was impressive.

2:28 PM ET: In the two-minute drill, Fields looked his best so far. He completed a nice 15-yard pass across his body to WR Justin Hardy while on the run. Before the end of the half, Bears kicker Cairo Santos completes a 53-yard field goal to give Chicago their first points of the game.

2:20 PM ET: After driving the ball downfield with some short passes, Brissett takes a shot to the end zone to RB Salvon Ahmed for a 23-yard TOUCHDOWN.

2:14 PM ET: After an incomplete pass attempt to TE Jesse James, Fields scrambles for 6 yards and fumbles the ball out of bounds. Rough start so far for Fields, but he hasn’t had very much help around him. The Bears have now had five straight three and outs.

2:00 PM ET: After an All-Pro season last year, kicker Jason Sanders continues to be money with a 35-yard field goal for Miami.

1:52 PM ET: Tua’s day has seemingly come to an end as Jacoby Brissett has come in at QB. Tua finished 8/11 with 99 yards and an interception. After replacing Tua, Brissett’s second play of the game is an 18-yard scramble. His third is an 8-yard rush.

1:50 PM ET: Miami continues to find success on punt returns with Jakeem Grant taking it back for 34 yards.

1:45 PM ET: After the interception, rookie QB Justin Fields is getting his first drive of the game. After a rush and two false start penalties, Fields’ first drive ends with a three and out.

1:40 PM ET: Tua took a shot at the end zone for TE Adam Shaheen. Bears safety DeAndre Houston-Carson INTERCEPTED the ball.

1:30 PM ET: After a quick drive from Chicago, Miami and Tagovailoa take the field again. Tua continues to show his rapport with his TEs, completing another pass to Gesicki. He also completes a 14-yard pass to Hollins in a very tight window between two Bears defensemen. However, Miami’s run game continues to struggle. Malcolm Brown finishes the first quarter with 7 attempts for 5 yards.

1:17 PM ET: With a great pocket around him and time to set up, Tagovailoa connects on a 50-yard pass to TE Mike Gesicki. Brown then had two attempts at the end zone but couldn’t get past the Bears’ defensive line. Miami settles for a 21-yard field goal.

1:13 PM ET: Miami Dolphin fans got to see their first look at WR Jaylen Waddle. Waddle received Miami’s second punt and ran for 22 yards. His speed and agility are both on display early.

1:10 PM ET: During Chicago’s first drive, the Bears ran the ball twice. RB David Montgomery got the first snap and walked off the field shaken up. The drive ended with a three and out.

1:06 PM ET: Miami starts with the ball, with Tua Tagovailoa as the starter. Newly acquired RB Malcolm Brown starts with a short two-yard gain. The Dolphins finished their first drive going three and out.
